Henry H. Wheeler, Jr. Brain Imaging Center

Established in 2000, the center is dedicated to basic and clinical neuroscience using MRI methods. BIC houses a Siemens 3 T MRI scanner, a transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) lab, a fully-equipped mechanical shop including 3D printers, an electrical shop, and behavioral testing rooms.

Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute

Established to integrate neuroscience faculty across the UC Berkeley campus. The broad goal is to use the power of diverse research approaches to address central questions in neuroscience. Created in 1997 through a bequest from eight-time Wimbledon tennis champion and Olympic gold medalist Helen Wills Moody, an alumna of Berkeley, the Neuroscience PhD Program accepted its first class in Fall 2001.
